Job description

Contract: 6 months (extension likely) Location: Belfast (on-site) Directorate: Planning, Performance & Corporate Services

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced data professional to join a high-performing analytics team. You'll translate complex data into clear insights that support strategic decision-making across a fast-paced, essential public service.

What You'll Do

  • Produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly activity and performance reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Analyse, clean and interpret large, complex datasets to identify trends and support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare statutory and regulatory returns for external bodies.
  • Present complex insights clearly to non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Support strategic project planning and contribute to collaborative analytical work.
  • Ensure full compliance with GDPR, Data Protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant forums and working groups.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience with MS Access, Excel (including pivot tables), and general data manipulation.
  • A degree in IT/Computing/Data/Statistics OR 5+ years of relevant analytical experience.
  • Excellent analytical and interpretation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A confident communicator able to present findings in formal meetings.
  • Solid understanding of data security and confidentiality.

Nice to Have

  • SQL, VBA, GIS or familiarity with health sector data standards.
