Job description
An opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Software Engineer to join an established engineering business delivering automation solutions across a range of industrial sectors, including manufacturing, food processing, and related environments. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to the full project lifecycle - from design and development through to testing, commissioning, and ongoing support., As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and implementing control and automation systems
- Programming PLCs and HMIs using industry-standard platforms
- Supporting full project lifecycle delivery, including testing and commissioning
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues within control systems
- Collaborating with internal teams to deliver project requirements
- Producing technical documentation and system specifications
- Supporting on-site installations and occasional travel to customer sites
Requirements
We're keen to speak with engineers who have:

Experience working with PLC programming and control systems

Knowledge of automation systems within industrial environments

Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley platforms (or similar)

Understanding of electrical systems and control panel design

Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable (Not Essential)

HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

Experience within industrial or manufacturing environments

Exposure to commissioning or on-site project work Eligibility Criteria

Must have the right to work in the UK

Must be able to reliably commute to Haverhill, Suffolk
