Job description
We're working with a well-established manufacturing group in Sheffield who are looking for a Business Systems Lead to take ownership of their SAP environment across multiple business units.
This role sits at the centre of IT and the wider business - supporting day-to-day operations, but more importantly improving how SAP is used across finance, operations and supply chain.
It's a genuinely broad role with a mix of support, optimisation and project work - ideal for someone who wants more ownership and visibility, rather than being one of many in a larger team.
The role
You'll be the go-to person for SAP across the group, responsible for both keeping things running and making them better.
You'll be:
- Leading functional support across core SAP modules (Finance, MM, SD, Production Planning)
- Acting as the escalation point for complex or cross-functional issues
- Identifying and delivering process improvements - not just system fixes
- Supporting integrations, interfaces and data flow across systems
- Working closely with stakeholders across finance, operations and supply chain
- Contributing to the ERP roadmap and supporting ongoing transformation initiatives
Requirements
- Experience supporting SAP or a similar ERP system in a manufacturing, engineering or distribution environment
- Strong functional understanding of core business processes (finance, procurement, production, sales)
- Someone who can balance BAU support with continuous improvement
- Comfortable working directly with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership
- (ABAP or technical exposure is useful but not essential)
Benefits & conditions
This is a great opportunity to step into a role where you'll:
- Have real ownership of the ERP landscape
- Work across multiple areas of the business, not just IT
- Play a key role in improving processes and system usage
- Be part of a small, collaborative team where you can make a visible impact
If you're in an SAP / ERP role and feel ready for more ownership and influence, this could be a really strong next step.
