Job description
- Design and deliver scalable data platforms using Azure, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric
- Own solution architecture, ensuring performance, security, and best practices
- Stay hands-on with Python (essential), Spark, and SQL
- Lead client workshops ('Accelerate' engagements) and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Set engineering standards (CI/CD, coding, testing, reusable frameworks)
- Manage technical delivery, risks, and project outcomes
- Mentor engineers and act as a senior technical authority
Requirements
- Strong Azure data platform experience (Databricks, Data Factory, Fabric, Synapse)
- Advanced Python skills (must-have) + Spark & SQL
- Experience building modern Lakehouse / distributed data architectures
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation, governance, and cloud best practices
- Consultancy or client-facing experience preferred
- Confident communicator - able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
