Job description
Within the Information Technology Department, you will join a team of 12 engineers based in Geneva and collaborate with IT colleagues in more than 30 countries. Under the supervision of the IT Infrastructure Support Manager, you will lead a team of three network engineers.
You will combine people management with hands-on engineering, ensuring that EFG's business-critical systems remain secure, resilient, and always connected in a demanding private banking environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Lead, coach and develop a team of three network engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Combine team leadership with hands-on technical work on complex incidents and projects.
- Oversee day-to-day network and proxy operations, including incident, problem and change management.
- Plan and coordinate network and proxy upgrades, migrations and lifecycle activities in alignment with business and security requirements.
- Manage escalations, ensuring timely resolution of major incidents and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Manage and review third-party providers and vendor contracts, ensuring service quality, cost effectiveness and adherence to SLAs.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies as well as regulatory, security and audit requirements relevant to network and security infrastructure.
- Proxy / Secure Web Gateway (Zscaler)
- Collaborate closely with security teams to define, implement and maintain security policies, including URL filtering, cloud application and file filtering, DLP and access control.
- Configure, operate and maintain Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA) and related components such as SIPA, cloud firewall, PAC files, NSS, ZCC...
- Manage corporate devices using Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC), ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Zscaler-related issues by analysing logs, performing traces and applying appropriate corrective actions.
- Analyse network packet traces (PCAP), Fiddler logs and HTTP/HTTPS headers to identify and resolve complex connectivity and performance issues.
- Proactively suggest and implement improvements to network and proxy performance, capacity, scalability and security posture.
- Network Engineering & Operations
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for network and related services.
- Configure, install and maintain network devices and services (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
- Support and maintain network connectivity for financial market data feeds and other latency-sensitive services.
- Implement and maintain a continuous improvement process by defining, documenting and enforcing network and proxy standards, procedures and best practices.
- Interface with external suppliers and partners (integrators, telecom providers, market data vendors, etc.) to design, implement and support network solutions.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call / on-duty rotation (piquet) to support critical infrastructure.
- Monitor network and proxy performance, ensuring system availability, reliability and security.
- Monitor system resource utilisation, trends and capacity, and plan upgrades or optimisations accordingly.
Requirements
Background
- 6-10 years of experience in networking in complex, international environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking architecture and network security.
- Professional experience with Cisco technologies and Cisco ACI; financial services experience is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Expert in LAN/WAN/MAN implementation and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience with firewalls (Fortinet and/or Check Point), VPN, IPSec and GRE tunnels.
- Proven expertise with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and ZCC on corporate devices.
- Solid understanding of network and cloud connectivity design.
- Ability to analyse network traces (PCAP), Fiddler logs and HTTP/HTTPS headers.
- Knowledge of Python or another scripting language for automation; Zscaler certification is a plus.
Soft Skills & Languages
- Strong communication skills; able to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing third-party providers and internal support teams.
- Rigorous, autonomous, proactive and service-oriented, with strong documentation skills.
- Fluent in French and English, written and spoken.
