Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Technical Specialist who will play a pivotal role in contributing to the development of new technology initiatives for RLG.

Reporting to the IT Service SLT Practice Manager, the IT Technical Specialist will be responsible for the creation of technical designs, operating models and implementation plans for technology change programmes and projects., * Work with the Network Infrastructure Manager to define policies and set standards to improve efficiency and working practice within the estate and develop and maintain operational controls to ensure service stability and performance.

  • Provide guidance to Programme and Project Managers around networking requirements and capabilities to ensure a timely delivery of scope requirements.
  • Provide Networking SME expertise to the team to include coaching and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement of efficiency and capabilities.
  • Contribute towards technical designs for change programmes in all technology areas covering networking requirements.
  • Provide end to end technical oversight for major IT Technology initiatives particularly those for network infrastructure.Work with the Network Infrastructure Manager and other Technical Specialists to define and maintain the roadmap for network infrastructure within Royal London.

Requirements

  • Experience in design and technical management of networking technologies.
  • Experience in technical ownership of networking solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of technical design frameworks, trends, and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technical solutions and enterprise application integrations.
  • In depth knowledge of advanced technical troubleshooting capabilities and methodologies.
  • Technical understanding of security, storage, compute, hardware, application, and network domains.In-depth technical understanding of infrastructure capacity management.
