Job description
You'll act as the primary on-site IT support, taking ownership of day-to-day IT operations while delivering 1st and 2nd line support across both office and production environments. Working closely with the wider IT team, you'll play a key role in ensuring system stability, supporting users, and driving improvements., * Act as the main on-site IT contact and escalation point
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support across office and operational environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues end-to-end, escalating where necessary
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID)
- Support M365 upgrades, migrations, and modernisation initiatives
- Manage users, permissions, mailboxes, and security policies
- Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
- Support local infrastructure (networking, Wi-Fi, printers, firewalls)
- Monitor system performance, patching, backups, and security
- Provide hands-on support during changes (including floor-walking)
- Maintain IT asset, licence, and configuration records
- Support IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with site stakeholders to understand IT needs and risks
- Ensure systems support security, compliance, and business continuity
Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT Administrator or senior support role
- Strong Microsoft 365 experience
- Experience with M365 migrations or upgrade projects
- Solid Windows desktop and server knowledge
- Good understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, switching)
- Experience supporting users in operational or manufacturing environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with non-technical users
- Able to work independently on-site and collaborate remotely
- Security-conscious with a good understanding of IT best practices
