Job description

Context: Within the BNP Paribas Personal Finance BeNeLux Data Governance Center of Excellence, we are recruiting a Data Quality Officer to elevate data quality standards for Personal Finance Netherlands (PF NL), a key entity of the group, with a dual focus: Enhancing local data quality through robust controls, remediation initiatives, and alignment with group standards and regulatory requirements (BCBS 239). Fostering synergies with Alpha Credit and other group entities to promote a unified data governance approach. Based in Belgium, your mission will include: Implementing and monitoring the data quality framework for PF NL, Collaborating with business and IT teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence, Contributing to cross-entity initiatives to harmonize tools and processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise, strategic vision, and international collaboration in a data-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Define and deploy data quality frameworks for PF NL, ensuring alignment with BNP Paribas group policies and regulatory requirements (BCBS 239). Collaborate with business and IT teams to embed quality controls in processes and systems. Develop KPIs and dashboard (e.g., completeness, accuracy) using tools like Qlik Sense. Identify data anomalies (duplicates, inconsistencies) and root causes. Drive corrective actions: prioritize issues, coordinate fixes (IT/manual), and track resolutions. Automate quality checks via Ab Initio or SQL/Python. Work closely with Alpha Credit and other group entities (PF Central and BNP Paribas Fortis) to share best practices, harmonize tools/processes, and leverage synergies in data governance. Train PF NL teams on data quality standards and regulatory expectations. Promote a data-driven culture through workshops and communications.

Requirements

Technical Skills "5 years" experience in Data Quality/Governance, ideally in banking/financial services. Data Quality tools (Ab Initio, Collibra, etc.). Regulatory knowledge (BCBS 239). Data visualization (Qlik Sense, Power BI). SQL/Python (queries, automation). Functional Skills Ability to analyze data issues and propose actionable solutions. Stakeholder management: bridge between business, IT, and group entities. Project experience: data transformation or governance initiatives. Soft Skills Rigor and pragmatism: balance quality with operational constraints. Collaboration: work across teams in a multicultural environment. Communication: fluent in English (mandatory) + Dutch (strong asset) or French. Training ability: upskill teams on data quality topics. Education & Experience Master's degree in Data, Finance, or related field. Proven track record in Data Quality/Governance within financial services. Nice-to-Haves Knowledge of BNP Paribas PFs business model (consumer credit). Experience with governance tools (Ab Initio, Collibra). Certifications (DCAM, CDMP). Practical Information Location:Belgium (with regular interactions with PF NL teams in the Netherlands). Contract: Permanent. Level:Medior (autonomous but supported by Data Governance Lead). Key Clarifications: The role is based in Belgium but focused on PF NL's data quality. Collaboration with Alpha Credit is part of the scope (without specifying time allocation). Dutch language skills are a strong plus for interactions with PF NL teams.
