Job description
This is a fully onsite role based in Newtownabbey, supporting multiple locations and overseeing infrastructure, ERP systems and internal IT capability across the group. The Opportunity This position has become available following previous leadership changes, with the business currently operating through internal IT coordinators and external MSP support. The successful candidate will take ownership of group IT operations, reduce external reliance, and provide forward-thinking technical direction. You will manage two IT Coordinators across separate divisions while remaining technically hands-on., Provide desktop and end-user support across multiple group sites Deliver network and server support both onsite and remotely Deploy and maintain PCs, laptops, software and related infrastructure Support and administer in-house telephony and networking systems Manage hardware and software procurement across sites Deliver internal IT training to staff Oversee and optimise ERP systems across the group Lead and improve Business Intelligence reporting capability Develop and mentor two internal IT Coordinators Manage external MSP support Drive IT modernisation including collaboration platforms and emerging technologies Technical Environment The successful candidate will have strong experience across: Mid-range ERP systems Complex WAN/LAN/WiFi networks (SonicWall, Cisco, Netgear, HP) Active Directory domain environments Microsoft Office 365 administration Windows Server and Exchange Server Server hardware and backup systems (HP) Hyper-V and VMware virtualisation Antivirus, patch management and spam control tools Mobile Device Management (Android and iOS) VPN and mobile worker solutions (e.g. ActiveSync) Disaster Recovery planning and implementation Multi-site network infrastructure
Requirements
Minimum 3 years operating as an IT Manager or Technical Lead * ERP Experience Experience delivering Business Intelligence solutions across varied business functions Proven ability to manage and deliver complex technical projects Strong troubleshooting skills across client and server environments Experience working in fast-paced, multi-site environments Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Full driving licence and access to a vehicle Desirable Linux (CentOS / Debian) Dealer Management Systems (e.g. Kerridge / Autoline) VoIP administration (Nortel BCM / Samsung) SharePoint administration Professional certifications (MCP, MCITP, MCTS, CCNA, ITIL or similar) What They're Looking For A pragmatic, hands-on IT leader Someone comfortable being fully onsite Strong commercial awareness Adaptable and open to modern technologies Able to balance strategic direction with operational delivery
