Your new role As an Infrastructure Engineer, you'll support and develop a modern AWS-based infrastructure while working closely with developers to improve application delivery and deployment processes. This role offers a clear progression path into a DevOps position, providing hands-on exposure to automation, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud engineering practices. You'll take ownership of day-to-day cloud infrastructure operations, while gradually increasing your involvement in DevOps tooling and workflows such as CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments., * Maintaining, patching and monitoring AWS Linux servers and services
- Building, configuring, documenting and retiring cloud infrastructure resources
- Managing AWS services including EC2, RDS, VPC, S3, IAM, Route 53, Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, Security Groups and CloudFront
- Supporting SQL databases (Postgres or MySQL), including installation, backup, restore and migration
- Monitoring cloud usage and costs and suggesting efficiency improvements
- Installing and configuring web and application software (Apache, Nginx, PHP, Python)
- Managing Cloudflare DNS and firewall configuration
- Installing, configuring and renewing SSL certificates
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Supporting the security, patching and modernisation of legacy systems
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure
- Good Linux systems administration experience
- Experience working with SQL databases (Postgres or MySQL)
- Exposure to CI/CD, ideally using GitHub Actions
- Confidence using the command line
- Shell scripting experience (bash, sh, YAML)
- DNS configuration and SSL certificate management knowledge
- Understanding of networking concepts such as VPCs, subnets and security groups
Desirable experience includes:
- Cloudflare
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Azure exposure
- Docker
- PHP or Python
- SQL querying
