SAP Basis Engineer

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role with accountability for the non-functional integrity of an SAP S/4HANA landscape across migration and go-live phases. The position is critical to ensuring a stable, resilient, and high-performing platform, supporting a safe and sustainable transition into production., * Provide deep technical expertise across SAP Basis, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA environments

• Own and govern non-functional requirements at enterprise scale, including resilience, performance, and operational stability
• Design and assure high availability architectures, including clustering, failover, and active/passive configurations
• Lead performance and scalability activities, including system sizing, tuning, and workload management across migration and BAU scenarios
• Define and validate disaster recovery strategies, including recovery time and recovery point objectives
• Ensure operational readiness, including support models, monitoring, and production stability
• Collaborate with testing teams to define and execute performance, resilience, and failover testing
• Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents and drive sustainable, long-term remediation
• Provide architectural guidance and assurance across technical teams and delivery stakeholders
• Support governance and quality assurance of the SAP landscape throughout the programme lifecycle

• Strong experience designing and assuring large-scale SAP landscape architectures and complex integrations
• Proven ability to lead high-impact incident resolution and drive corrective actions
• Hands-on experience with performance testing, resilience validation, and failover scenarios
• Solid understanding of infrastructure layers, including operating systems, networking, storage, virtualisation, and security
• Ability to provide clear technical direction, challenge design decisions, and ensure delivery quality
• Demonstrated experience working in complex, large-scale SAP environments

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on delivery background with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges
• Experience operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with senior stakeholder visibility
• Background in regulated industries
• Experience within financial services environments is advantageous but not essential, * Strong problem-solving capability with a proactive and detail-oriented approach
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to operate effectively under pressure and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timelines
