Job description

We're looking for a Senior Hardware/Electronics Engineer to take ownership of the design and delivery of complex electronic hardware within high-reliability systems. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full development lifecycle, contributing hands-on technical expertise while supporting the wider engineering team.

You'll be a trusted technical contributor, comfortable solving challenging design problems and working closely with systems, software, and manufacturing colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and validate electronic hardware assemblies to meet defined technical and quality requirements
  • Translate system and customer needs into clear hardware specifications and detailed designs
  • Support integration and test activities, resolving hardware-related issues efficiently
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical documentation, and assurance evidence
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and guidance to junior engineers
  • Ensure designs align with applicable engineering standards and regulatory expectations

Requirements

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, hardware engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong experience across the hardware development lifecycle
  • Ability to define requirements, interfaces, and functional behaviour at board or sub-system level
  • Clear communicator, able to work effectively within collaborative engineering teams
  • Progress toward professional registration is encouraged and supported

Benefits & conditions

£50,000 - £65,000, depending on experience Hybrid working model (typically three days on-site) or office-based Nine-day fortnight with every other Friday off Flexible benefits and a structured development pathway to support career progression
