Job description
- Own mechanical design and delivery osubsystems from concept through manufacturing release
- Produce 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and supporting calculations.
- Own manufacturability and production readiness of assigned subsystems, ensuring designs are robust in real-world manufacturing environments
- Utilise manufacturing experience for continuous improvement of design standards, manufacturability, and cost.
- Lead rapid resolution of design issues arising from manufacturing and supplier feedback to maintain delivery momentum
- Own engineering interface with international suppliers, ensuring timely resolution of issues and progress toward delivery
- Guide and review work from junior engineers to ensure quality and delivery of assigned work
- Champion professional standards of engineering integrity, safety, and sustainability within the team.
Requirements
- Degree Qualified (Mechanical/Structural/Marine)
- 5-10 years hands-on experience designing mechanical systems in a production environment
- Proven ability to deliver designs from concept to production in marine, wind, offshore or similar environments
- Proficiency in Siemens NX, Inventor (or equivalent 3D CAD)
- Experience working with fabrication, welding, or large structural assemblies.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Proven experience driving cost-reductions to achieve targets. Comfortable working in highly dynamic environments with significant accountability
