Job description
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in designing Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains by developing ATC system architecture and defining critical requirements. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as the Project Core Team, Project Engineering Team, and System Product Team), lead design reviews, and investigate verification and validation test results to identify and address issues, and much more.
You'll specifically take care of designing system specifications, architecture, and interfaces, but also ensuring ATC configurations are ready for testing.
We'll look to you for:
- Designing ATC systems and providing related documentation (e.g., specifications, architecture, interface descriptions).
- Leading ATC design reviews to ensure quality and alignment with project goals.
- Ensuring ATC configurations are prepared and validated for testing processes.
- Investigating verification and validation (V&V) test failures and proposing corrective actions.
- Ensuring adherence to project QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) commitments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support root cause analysis and address system requirements traceability.
Requirements
We value passion and attitude over experience. That's why we don't expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we've listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- A degree in engineering (electronics, embedded systems, or equivalent).
- Experience in complex real-time systems, such as signalling, avionics, defense, or safety-related systems.
- Knowledge of system engineering, including specification and requirements development.
- Familiarity with software engineering methods and tools for configuring generic ATC software.
- Proficiency in defect analysis and the ability to propose corrective solutions.
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work transversally with engineering teams, demonstrating autonomy and coordination skills.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
