  • broader practice leadership

  • commercial ownership and margin responsibility

  • strategic vendor and partner management

  • cross-practice leadership

  • contribution to wider company strategy

  • progression into senior operational or practice leadership roles, The role should support both advisory and implementation work, from early assessment and roadmap conversations through to design, migration, optimisation, and managed services. • Growth mindset: Demonstrating a relentless pursuit of learning and personal development.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in hybrid cloud, infrastructure, or platform leadership within an IT services or managed services environment
  • Strong technical background across traditional infrastructure and modern cloud approaches
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of profitable service delivery
  • Experience leading teams and improving technical capability
  • Experience supporting or shaping client proposals, solutions, and roadmaps
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and internal teams
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery reality

Useful technical background includes a strong working understanding of several of the following:

  • traditional infrastructure and data centre environments
  • private cloud platforms
  • virtualisation and VMware replacement discussions
  • storage platforms including Pure Storage
  • backup, recovery, and resilience platforms including Rubrik
  • compute, networking, and core infrastructure design
  • AWS and broader public cloud services
  • hybrid cloud design and migration planning
  • disaster recovery and resilience architecture
  • infrastructure as code and automation approaches
  • DevOps-aligned infrastructure delivery
  • operating model modernisation

Qualifications are helpful but not the main thing. Relevant certifications across AWS, Nutanix, VMware, storage, backup, networking, or leadership are beneficial. Professional attributes

  • Strong leadership presence
  • Commercially sensible and delivery-aware
  • Calm and credible with clients
  • Comfortable in both traditional and modern technical environments
  • Able to simplify complex ideas
  • Pragmatic rather than fashionable
  • Process-minded without becoming bureaucratic
  • Accountable and comfortable owning outcomes
  • Able to spot improvement opportunities and act on them
  • Good judgement, especially around risk, delivery, and client impact

Multidisciplinary approach The Head of Hybrid Cloud must work across multiple disciplines rather than in isolation.

This role needs to connect infrastructure, cloud, resilience, storage, backup, networking, security, automation, and operations into joined-up client solutions. It also needs to work well with the Cyber, IT Operations, and Data & AI practices so that clients receive coherent advice and delivery rather than siloed services.

About the company

The Head of Hybrid Cloud leads the Hybrid Cloud practice at ITHQ. This role is responsible for building, shaping, and running a strong Hybrid Cloud function that helps clients design, migrate, modernise, optimise, and support resilient infrastructure across traditional and modern environments. That means understanding the full picture, not just public cloud. The right person will be comfortable with existing data centres, private cloud, virtualisation, storage, backup, networking, and traditional infrastructure stacks, while also being able to lead clients towards more modern operating models including automation, infrastructure as code, platform thinking, and hybrid cloud architectures.
