Job description

The New York State Democratic Committee seeks a Coordinated Campaign Data Director to join our data team in 2026. The Data Director will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our voter contact and volunteer engagement programs by designing reports, tools, and resources for staff, as well as providing analysis and projections. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, creative thinkers who are dedicated to electing Democrats up and down the ballot.

The Data Director will:

  • Build tools and reports to evaluate coordinated campaign programming (including but not limited to direct voter contact and voter protection efforts) for campaign leadership and coordinated campaign partners

  • Manage all organizing software and corresponding data and analytics, including predictive dialers, texting software, relational organizing databases, and campaign volunteer databases

  • Create voter contact universes that target key constituencies for specific contact modes and phases of the campaign

  • Execute other duties as needed, including potentially hiring and managing staff

Requirements

  • Two or more cycles doing analytics work in an electoral campaign or advocacy organization is required; one or more cycles in a leadership role in statewide campaigns in data and analytics at the Deputy Data Director level or higher is preferred

  • Intermediate SQL experience is required; advanced experience in a professional setting is preferred

  • Experience with creating reporting systems for organizing programs; advanced knowledge of VAN and Excel or Google Sheets is required

  • Demonstrated cultural competence and the skills needed to work meaningfully with those who are culturally different from the self; a commitment to fostering a positive working environment grounded in the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Highly organized and independent work style; a strong ability to multitask and communicate

  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to build relationships, listen, collaborate, and lead with respect and professionalism.
