Technology and Data - Software Engineer 3 - Contingent

• Design & Development: Architect, design, and develop scalable back-end services using Python and Node.js.
• System Integration: Integrate APIs, databases, and third-party services into the system architecture.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code following best practices in testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve speed and scalability.
• Collaboration: Partner with front-end engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional teams for smooth deployment.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Problem Solving: Analyze complex issues and create innovative solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Keep current with modern technologies and suggest process improvements.
• Testing & Debugging: Build and execute unit/integration tests to ensure reliability.
• Documentation: Maintain technical specifications, design docs, and user guides.

• 4+ years software engineering experience, specifically Python + Node.js.
• 5+ years strong proficiency in Python (Django/Flask) and Node.js, with solid JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge.
• Back-end expertise: REST APIs, microservices, server-side development.
• Database skills: PostgreSQL/MySQL + MongoDB/Redis.
• Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform + familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Git + version control workflows.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication + problem-solving skills.Plusses:
• Front-end knowledge (React, Angular, Vue).
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Docker + Kubernetes experience.
• Testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, PyTest).
• Financial services experience (preferred).Job Summary: In this contingent assignment, the Software Engineer will participate in moderately complex software engineering initiatives, contributing to large-scale planning and solution delivery across backend systems. The engineer will analyze technical challenges, support issue resolution, and collaborate with internal client engineering teams.
