Applications Support Technician

Be part of the front line of tech support at ASU.

• Provide technical support to customers by troubleshooting software-related issues via phone, email, remote tools, or in-person assistance.
• Assist supervisors and vendors with installing, updating, and maintaining system, utility, and application software, including:

• ASU Google and O365 email systems
• Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for labs and remote access
• Managing user access within various software systems
• Software packaging, deployment, and updates

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's operations.

Work Schedule: Standard operating hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Student technicians must schedule their work hours within this time frame but may occasionally be asked to assist with events or support needs outside standard hours.

• Must be a currently enrolled student, registered for classes, and in good academic standing.
• Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
• Basic understanding of computer software and basic troubleshooting ability;
• Ability to work individually and also with team members;
• Must effectively communicate one on one with end users;
• Ability to efficiently manage your time in a fast-paced work environment

Preferred Qualifications Experience with the following is preferred but not required:

• Windows OS
• Mac OS
• VDI Horizon
• Software Packaging and Deployment (KACE/SCCM/Intune)
• Microsoft Office Suite (0365)
• Computer programming
• Mobile devices
• Active Directory Services

Physical Demands

• Transport computers and other equipment across campus
• Sitting/standing at a computer during work shift
