VMware Engineer

An international bank is looking for a VMware Engineer to join their Technology Infrastructure and Engineering group for a contract to hire assignment. The role would be focused on engineering and operating a Hyperconverged VMware stack running on VXRails. Long term, this role would help transition VMware infrastructure to Azure Cloud alongside the existing Cloud team. Any Scripting (PowerShell/Python) experience is nice to have. This resource can be local to the NYC, Miami or LA area and will work in a hybrid onsite model (twice a week).

6+ years of experience as a VMware Engineer with Best Practice deployment for scale and reliability

• Strong experience with VMware operation support, networking operational support, hyperconverged storage operational support and operational monitoring with 3rd party tool

• Experience troubleshooting network, VMware, and driver/firmware issues

• Excellent understanding of all round networking and firewall principles

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Python/PowerShell scripting/automation capability

• Azure Cloud foundational understanding
