Job description
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
Requirements
- Education / Experience: 8 Years with Bachelors in Science; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD (4 additional years of experience in lieu of BS degree)
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Active 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e. CompTIA Security +)
- 3-5 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions (on-premises or hybrid)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures and diagrams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently or as part of a cross functional team
- General understanding of networking concepts, layers, and technologies as they are implemented in both physical and virtual environments
- Hands-on experience with hyper-visors and virtualization technologies
- Experience with server operating systems - Windows Server (2019/2022), Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE)
- Experience with storage solutions and architecture - NetApp OnTap, Dell Powerstore, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in solution design, integration, or enterprise architecture roles
- Experience with VDI technology; Nutanix, KASM, etc.
- Basic scripting experience with Bash, Ansible, Python, etc.
- Demonstrated mentorship or leadership experience, guiding engineers in OS design, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Business acumen: ability to evaluate cost implications, ROI, and total cost of ownership for IT-centric solutions
Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
