Job description

A healthcare client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to sit fully remote. The Senior Network Engineer (SaaS Platform, GCP Focus) is responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native networking for a multi-tenant SaaS platform built primarily on Google Cloud Platform with integrations into Azure. This role designs secure, resilient, and scalable connectivity-including VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, Cloud Interconnect, and landing zones-while codifying infrastructure through IaC and integrating network changes into CI/CD pipelines. Working closely with platform engineering, DevOps, and security teams, the engineer leads networking patterns for Kubernetes/GKE, service mesh (Istio), microservices traffic management, and hybrid connectivity, enforcing Zero Trust, segmentation, encryption, and compliance across major frameworks. The position provides advanced support for complex issues, drives automation, observability, and best practices, and contributes technical leadership to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficient cloud operations.

Requirements

5+ years of network engineering experience, including migrating on-premises networks to cloud environments

Deep hands-on expertise with GCP, Azure and landing zone/peer networking and SaaS architectures

Experience designing secure and scalable SaaS platforms

Startup experience or demonstrated agile/startup mindset

Advanced knowledge in:

  • Enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Arista).

  • Network security technologies: Palo Alto NGFW, IDS/IPS, NAC, ZTNA, DLP, SIEM.

  • Cloud networking in AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • Designing Layer 2/3 topologies for high availability and scalability; SD-WAN, VPN, hybrid connectivity.

  • Network monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark).

Strong experience with IaC tools - Terraform

AI knowledge or hands on experience

Certifications: PMP Experience as a Network Architect within a Fortune 500 company with at least 3 or more data centers, including both on-premises and collocated environments

GCP certifications

Network virtualization platforms - (NSX, Cisco ACI, VMware)
