Job description
The client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL database administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and availability of enterprise databases while supporting ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams., * Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Respond promptly to database-related issues and user-reported errors
- Design, implement, and maintain database structures to support application requirements
- Write, review, and optimize complex SQL queries and in-application SQL statements
- Perform routine database maintenance activities including upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations
- Ensure database security, including protection against unauthorized access and data breaches
- Monitor system performance metrics and recommend improvements
- Analyze and optimize server resource utilization
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to support database-related initiatives

Requirements
Candidates must meet all required qualifications to be considered. Core Technical Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in SQL database administration
- Strong expertise in SQL Server (2008 or higher)
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and migration processes
- Strong understanding of database security best practices
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving database performance issues
- Ability to monitor and optimize server and database performance
- Experience working with relational database systems
Additional Required Competencies
- Ability to design databases considering both front-end and back-end requirements
- Strong knowledge of database architecture and resource planning
- Experience with code versioning tools (e.g., GitLab)
- Familiarity with SSIS packages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Windows Server (2008/2012) environments
- Familiarity with tools for performance profiling and monitoring
