Job description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking skilled Network Engineers to join our growing team. We have multiple openings and welcome applicants across all experience levels., As a Network Engineer, you will design, plan, and implement secure, resilient network systems that support critical missions. You will provide detailed architecture documentation, conduct testing, evaluate emerging technologies, and collaborate with mission partners to ensure reliable and interoperable network operations in demanding environments.
- Design, plan, and implement network systems aligned with mission and operational requirements.
- Develop technical specifications, diagrams, and schematics for network architecture.
- Recommend hardware and software solutions to support efficient and scalable network operations.
- Define implementation techniques, tools, and methodologies to meet current and future capacity needs.
- Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of network systems and components.
- Maintain technical expertise with routers, switches, firewalls, bridges, gateways, and related network technologies.
- Support operations in tactical or field environments, ensuring performance under mission-driven conditions.
- Collaborate across organizations, agencies, and mission partners to ensure interoperability and solution alignment.
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies to enhance network capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with DoD, IC, and federal security requirements and support clearance-related processes.
Requirements
Our ideal candidates are cleared professionals with proven, hands-on experience operating in tactical environments and collaborating effectively across organizations and agencies. All positions require a minimum of an active SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph.
Senior-level candidates are strongly encouraged to apply and should ideally already possess a TS/SCI clearance., Level Two - 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Level Three - 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
Level Four - 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in tactical or operational military environments.
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting complex network systems.
- Strong knowledge of network hardware/software including routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
- Experience producing network diagrams and detailed architecture documentation.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting, testing, and optimization.
- Familiarity with DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal government network standards and security controls.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across multiple organizations and agencies.
- CompTIA Network+ required. (Advanced CompTIA certifications (e.g., CASP+, CySA+, PenTest+) preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical information clearly.
Physical Requirements
- May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
Benefits & conditions
Compensation for this position varies by level and is determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, certification levels, security clearance status, and alignment with mission requirements.
Approximate salary ranges by level include:
- Level Two: $83,574 - $119,391
- Level Three: $102,160 - $145,942
