Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cognos Administrator & Reporting Specialist to lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-wide reporting solutions. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for IBM Cognos Analytics, while also supporting Oracle Projects functionality and financial reporting initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical BI expertise and strong accounting/forecasting knowledge to support data-driven decision-making across the organization., * Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for IBM Cognos Analytics, including report development, maintenance, and system optimization

  • Design, build, and maintain complex reports and dashboards (drill-through, bursting, dynamic prompts, multi-query joins)
  • Develop and manage data modules, metadata models, and reporting frameworks to support business intelligence needs
  • Create and enhance financial reports using Oracle Noetix views and other data sources
  • Partner with IT to troubleshoot database, system, and third-party software issues
  • Lead Cognos system upgrades and support legacy environments
  • Provide training and support to end users, ensuring effective adoption of reporting tools
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline reporting and analytics workflows

Oracle Projects Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure Oracle Projects modules, ensuring accurate setup and functionality
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and Capex planning processes
  • Assist with uploading CERs, cost budgets, and board-approved plans
  • Prepare and support monthly forecast file submissions
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all project-related reporting

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in BI/reporting, with strong focus on IBM Cognos Analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or related field
  • IBM Certified Cognos Analytics Administrator or Developer preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Cognos BI and Cognos Report Writer
  • Experience with Oracle Noetix reporting and custom views required
  • Preferred experience with Oracle Financials and Oracle Projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
