Job description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Flight Test Manager / Test Engineer to help support our Presidential and Executive Airlift customer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This role will need an understanding of DoD, Air Force as well as common test principles, processes and procedures that allows for translating user requirements into weapons system, requirements. This will be used to design, develop, fabricate, test and evaluate weapons systems, subsystems and equipment for eventual fielding and deploying., * Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Day-to-day tasks focus on coordinating and integrating the contractor and government test enterprise into the various program office teams to ensure the documented performance requirements are satisfactorily verified. Facilitate planned testing activities generate data required to effectively field a safe and suitable aircraft.

Review engineering change notices/proposals, contract modifications, and program risks.

Discrete tasks contributing to the above day-to-day focus are, but not limited to:

Represent the Test IPT at various meetings and working groups, reporting at the leadership level as well as coordinating with action-level engineers and PMs on requirement verifications and specific test objectives.

Administer contractor test planning documents by obtaining government technical and safety approval from appropriate authorities.

Coordinate, translate, and interleaving requirements with government stakeholders such as AFTC, AFOTEC, DOT&E, OUSD R&E, the prime contractor, and the user organization.

Participate in government-owned test documentation efforts (e.g. TEMP, operations plans, test plans, etc.) from the tactical to strategic level.

Apply airworthiness and compliance processes, mapping, and SSRA development.

Conduct trade-off assessments, translate requirements into system specifications, and support design/test activities.

Prepare/review technical evaluations, engineering studies, acquisition strategies, RFPs, test plans, ATPs, and spectrum determinations.

Participate in project meetings and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA, PMR, etc.).

Support assessments of cost, life cycle, maintainability, reliability, risk, and scheduling trade-offs.

Regulatory Knowledge: MIL-STD/HDBK, FARs, NPRMs, ADs, AMOCs and other certification and compliance criteria.
Requirements
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- Program Experience: ACAT 1 level programs in the DoD acquisition system.
- Aircraft Expertise: Experience in design, development, and mission systems integration of commercial derivatives or military transports.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Systems displays, data buses
- Test planning and sustainment operations
- Air Force certification processes

- TPS Grad
Physical Requirements
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
