Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring a motivated and experienced Integration and Test Engineer to support our Directed Energy operations. Our approach to directed energy is based on a modular open systems approach (MOSA) that leverages only and always the best of what the industry has to offer to our warfighters. With our emerging state-of-the-art integration, production and test facilities, we're building the infrastructure needed to develop, integrate, assemble, test, deploy, and sustain advanced laser and microwave systems.
The Integration and Test Engineer will manage the integration and testing of the systems engineering processes. The position involves providing engineering support to the integration, testing/acceptance and delivery of systems, structures, components, and software. You will d evelop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems., * Perform system integration and verification / validation testing of system requirements.

Support technical planning and evaluations of alternatives including cost and risk, supportability, and manufacturability.

Communicate task status with clarity and brevity.

Manage internal and external relationships.

Create and maintain various reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, software, and test engineers, to ensure a cohesive and effective system design.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. (Level 5)
Requirements
- Experience working within government contracts.
- Technical and problem-solving intuition.
- Ability to anticipate and mitigate programmatic implications of system challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience authoring and implementing system level and component level test plans and leading system integration efforts.
- Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Level 5: 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements

Master's degree or Ph.D. in related field. Experience with Open Systems Architectures.

Experience working as a defense hard tech prime or major sub.

Experience working in laser systems, power systems, or cooling systems

Demonstrated experience with system safety, reliability, and maintainability engineering.

Executed managing tasks within budgets.

Experience in risk management including risk register development.

Experience with hardware and software systems engineering.

Prior experience working within Department of Defense contracts.

Has previously worked at Department of Defense testing sites.

Possesses an active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.

Candidates can work remotely if not local to the Knoxville, TN area. Candidates will be expected to eventually relocate to the Knoxville, TN area at a future date.
We are hiring across various experience levels and the salary ranges are:
Level 3: $86,239 - $135,659
Level 4: $106,801 - $167,829
