Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial, open source, and in-house developed software systems used to support the Service Provider Networks. The candidate must have proven experience installing, configuring, and administering new and existing Element Management Systems (EMS) within the telecom industry. You will enhance existing systems and services to run on next-generation platforms and guide multiple projects through the full lifecycle from concept and design to testing and implementation.
This is a remote position with a preference in: Hudson, Ohio; Lincoln, Nebraska; Concord, North Carolina; or Little Rock, Arkansas.
What You'll Do:
- Demonstrate adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Own projects end-to-end, from initial concept to final implementation.
- Estimate project level of effort, costs, and required tasks.
- Manage and deliver solutions across multiple concurrent projects.
- Influence and drive projects toward successful completion.
- Provide constructive feedback on business processes supporting applications and services.
- Collaborate with peer organizations and operations teams to ensure project success for all stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or a minimum of 7 years of IT/Engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience with Linux administration.
- Minimum 3 years' experience with database administration.
- Minimum 3 years' experience with Kubernetes administration.
- Minimum 2 years' experience with containers.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in development or Linux shell scripting.
- Experience with LDAP, Radius, SSO, OAuth, SAML, and multifactor authentication.
- Experience with network elements such as routers, switches, OLTs, ONTs, DSLAMs, optical service nodes, etc.
- Experience with SNMP, Netconf, IPFIX (Netflow), Telegraf for telemetry monitoring.
- Proficiency in working with APIs, including REST/JSON and OpenAPI standards.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle, Sybase, InfluxDB, Snowflake, and Postgres.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware, KVM, and OpenStack.
- Familiarity with cloud and SaaS technologies, including Microsoft Azure and Snowflake.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications and service provider industry.
- DevOps mindset and experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Git, repositories, and AI agents.
- Experience with Python or Perl is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Must be a Team Player with the ability to mentor others.

The starting compensation range for this job is $90,700 to $121,400.
