Job description
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
- Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Reading and comprehending blueprints, building documentation/redline work and cable schedules.
- Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
What you'll need:
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
- Must be capable of leading a crew of 5-10 technicians.
- Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements.
- Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her.
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
- Be able to read and understand project design documents.
- Ability to install various types of innerduct (EX: Maxcell, 1.25" ID and Microduct) and fiber optic
cable.
- Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs.
- Possess skills to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations.
- Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
Track and review timesheets for your crew.
- Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs
- Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Technicians and Superintendent
- Track lessons learned as they occur
- Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of crew members
- Must be able to driver company vehicles and the ability to pull and back up trailers.
- Must be able to blow fiber optic cables
Requirements
- Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time depending on project location.
- Be able to work outside in different types of weather conditions. (Cold, Snow, Rain and heat).
- Experience in the installation of Maxcell, Microproduct, innerduct and fiber optic cable in a Data Center environment.
- Experience in fiber splicing and testing.

- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience with 3-4 years of job-related experience.
- Meets local or national security staff certification requirements.
- A comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function is required.
- Ability to evaluate and communicates unusual and/or complex content in a concise and logical way.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Advanced organizational skills with an inquisitive approach., Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

The minimum salary for the Union Data Center OSP Lead Technician position is $38.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the Union Data Center OSP Lead Technician position is $40.80 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
