Job description
We are seeking a mid-level IT Project Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise technology initiatives at\u00a0a federal agency. The Project Manager will\u00a0be responsible for\u00a0managing projects across the full system development life cycle (SDLC)\u2014regardless of\u00a0methodology\u00a0(Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, or hybrid)\u2014ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of technology solutions that meet business\u00a0objectives.\u00a0
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of leadership, technical understanding, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement experience. This role requires direct coordination with cross-functional teams, resource planning, progress reporting, and risk management, as well as the ability to translate complex requirements into executable plans.\u00a0
This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC area, requiring\u00a0on-site presence three days per week.\u00a0, * Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of IT projects, from initiation through deployment and closure.\u00a0
- Ensure quality control of project deliverables and\u00a0facilitate\u00a0end-user acceptance, documentation, and transition to operations.\u00a0
- Prepare and present regular\u00a0technical and financial status reports\u00a0to stakeholders, including project sponsors and\u00a0agency\u00a0leadership.\u00a0
- Manage the delivery of technical solutions and ensure alignment with\u00a0agency\u00a0standards, architectural guidance, and strategic goals.\u00a0
- Perform Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, scrum calls, retrospective\u00a0meetings\u00a0etc.)\u00a0
- Monitor and supervise progress across all project phases;\u00a0identify\u00a0and resolve project issues or risks proactively.\u00a0\u00a0
- Translate business and technical requirements into actionable work breakdown structures and assign tasks to\u00a0appropriate team\u00a0members.\u00a0
- Develop and\u00a0maintain\u00a0project schedules, risk registers, action logs, communication plans, and change control processes.\u00a0
- Coordinate project activities across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring proper resource allocation, task prioritization, and team alignment.\u00a0
- Define project scope,\u00a0objectives, milestones, task dependencies, timelines, and deliverables using standard project management tools and techniques.\u00a0

Requirements
- Bachelor\u2019s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or\u00a0a related\u00a0technical field.\u00a0
- 5+\u00a0years of experience\u00a0in project management for IT initiatives, with increasing responsibility over time.\u00a0
Required Skills\u00a0\u00a0
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects involving software development, data systems, infrastructure, or cloud-based technologies.\u00a0\u00a0
- Experience\u00a0with multiple SDLC methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps.\u00a0
- Experience developing and tracking project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategies.\u00a0
- Experience with Sprint and Kanban boards.\u00a0
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.\u00a0
- Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira,\u00a0Confluence\u00a0and Share Point.\u00a0, * PMP\u00ae, PMI-ACP\u00ae, or other project management certifications.\u00a0
- Prior experience managing IT programs in federal environments, especially within the judiciary or legal systems.\u00a0
- Understanding of\u00a0federal IT compliance standards and accessibility (e.g., FISMA, Section 508).\u00a0
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contract deliverables, or integrated project teams.\u00a0
