Job description

  • Installs, manages, maintains and runs complex performance products as part of an end to end visibility strategy in various domains.
  • Partners with application teams in the different stages of the lifecycle (development, test, staging, production operations, etc. ) to coach and assist them in reducing mean time to resolution and improving system and application performance.
  • Has broad and in - depth knowledge of performance best practices on various domains including applications, databases, networks, etc., and monitoring strategies including synthetic, real user, network connections, systems, and Java /NET code.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements automated test tools and strategies.
  • Collects and analyzes network performance information required for simulation modeling studies.
  • May provide performance engineering expertise in contributing to simulation modeling projects.
  • Provides input to project plans and recommends process improvements.
  • Monitors progress project and provides regular status reports to management team.
  • Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

  • External Client Presentation skills - outstanding
  • Diagram skills (Visio and PowerPoint) - outstanding
  • WAN Connectivity VPN, MPLS, Managed Network Providers (Radianz, TNS, etc.), Colo Cross-connects - outstanding

Preferred Skills/ Experience:

  • Application Network Flow able to understand and diagram - application traffic (IPs and ports) from the core, through the DMZ, and out to the client
  • DMZ Components: Firewalls, Load Balancers, Cisco Routers, Cisco SDWAN
  • Network Monitoring and troubleshooting, * Bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
