Job description
We are seeking a Senior Support Technician to support a large-scale infrastructure modernization effort focused on upgrading and migrating legacy Windows Server and RHEL systems. This role will play a key part in improving system performance, security, and stability across enterprise environments., * Lead migration of legacy Windows Server and RHEL systems to modern, supported environments
- Assess existing systems and develop upgrade strategies based on risk, security, and business impact
- Execute OS upgrades and system rebuilds while minimizing downtime and disruption
- Perform system validation post-migration (performance, compatibility, networking, services)
- Configure and maintain system settings including security, storage, and networking
- Automate system administration tasks using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible
- Apply system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation in line with security standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues across Windows and Linux environments
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution
- Document system configurations, migration activities, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration and delivery
- Provide ongoing support and optimization of systems post-migration
Requirements
The ideal candidate has strong experience in system administration, OS migrations, and automation, with the ability to work across both Windows and Linux environments. This is a hands-on role requiring troubleshooting expertise, a security-first mindset, and collaboration with cross-functional IT teams in a hybrid work environment., 8+ years of experience administering both Windows Server and RHEL environments

Proven experience performing OS upgrades and migrations (legacy/EOL systems preferred)

Strong hands-on experience with RHEL (5-9) and Windows Server (2008-2022)

Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible)

Experience with system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation

Strong troubleshooting skills across both Linux and Windows systems

Experience working in virtualized environments (e.g., VMware)

Strong documentation and cross-team collaboration skills
Nice to Have:

Experience with STIG/CIS compliance and security frameworks

Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, OpenSCAP)

Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
