Job description
An Aerospace Company in the Grand Rapids and Clearwater area is looking for a Remote Software Engineer. In this role, you support a defense program focused on a user interface integrated into aircraft systems. On a day-to-day basis, you develop and maintain application-level software that runs within a Stores Management Computer (SMC) and plays a critical in defense operations. Most of your work will be with a user interface that communicates with and controls different parts of the aircraft. Your daily work involves implementing and refining safety logic, optimizing existing applications, and adding new features to meet evolving program requirements. You collaborate closely with systems, hardware, and verification teams in a highly regulated defense environment, participating in task prioritization, requirements analysis, and technical discussions. You regularly contribute to code, design, and requirements reviews, produce detailed design and technical documentation, and support verification and integration efforts. Throughout the software development life cycle, you balance new development with sustainment activities, adhere to rigorous safety and quality standards, and provide mentorship or technical guidance as needed to support overall team execution.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field 3+ years experience in aerospace or defense industry 3+ years ADA Coding language Strong familiarity with MIL STD 1553 1+ VxWorks experience Full software life cycle development understanding and experience

Python Scripting Language Windriver VRTX experience Familiar with D0-178B guideline Experience working with Military
