In your role as a Network Strategy Engineer, you'll design, deploy, and sustain the semiconductor-centric LAN, WAN, datacenter, and cloud networking fabric. They own every layer of the network stack-routers, firewalls, switches, VPN appliances, cabling, and associated hardware-delivering high-availability, security, and scalability that support rigorous silicon-fabrication and research workloads.
You'll also provide technical leadership to the operations team, reviewing design, development, and implementation proposals to keep day-to-day activities in sync with long-term strategy.
Also, you'll construct multi-year and annual capacity budgets, balancing performance, cost, and risk across all platforms. By continually evaluating emerging networking technologies, the engineer develops a forward-looking roadmap that aligns evolving capabilities with business objectives, ensuring the organization remains poised for next-generation innovation.
Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Architect, plan, and maintain the semiconductor-environment LAN, WAN, datacenter, and cloud infrastructures-including routers, firewalls, switches, VPN appliances, cabling, and related hardware.
- Provide technical oversight to the operation team on the design, development, and implementation of solution proposals.
- Develop multi-year and annual capacity budgets for all platforms.
- Lead projects that expand, replace, or upgrade network infrastructure, hardware, and software.
- Define network requirements, establish architectural frameworks, and specify detailed designs and standards that align with business objectives. Investigate emerging technologies, evaluate their potential impact, and craft a long-term technology roadmap.
Requirements
Here's what you'll need:
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.
- Certification or advanced expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, Arista, F5 / A10, and other networking technologies. A minimum of 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting network infrastructure in complex environments.
- A solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, BGP, VPC, HSRP, VRRP, mLACP, MLag, VRF, PBR, IPv4 Subnetting, VSS, IGMP, PIM, Anycast-RP, MSDP, 802.1x, EAP-TLS, PEAP-MSCHAPv2, TACACS+, SYSLOG, QoS, Cisco IOS and NX-OS, EVPN, Vxlan.
- Experience in large-scale network design tailored for critical environments, high availability, low latency, and performance.
Benefits & conditions
The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
