Job description

We are seeking highly experienced Senior Gunsmith / Quality Assurance Technician (Level III) professionals to support a federal law enforcement training mission in Quantico, Virginia. This role supports a high-tempo firearms maintenance and training environment, ensuring operational readiness of a wide range of weapons systems. This position requires advanced technical expertise, strict adherence to safety and security protocols, and the ability to operate in a mission-driven environment., * Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, and live-fire testing of firearms

  • Diagnose and repair weapon malfunctions, including replacement of critical components
  • Maintain firearms inventory accountability and documentation systems
  • Conduct function and accuracy testing and certify weapons for operational use
  • Support shipping, tracking, and custody documentation for weapons and ammunition
  • Maintain and service optics, lasers, suppressors, and related equipment
  • Assist with evaluation and testing of new weapons systems
  • Provide firearms-related instruction and technical training (as approved)
  • Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records in government systems
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and handling protocols

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
  • Minimum 8 years of professional gunsmithing or armorer experience
  • Completion of an accredited gunsmith training program (or equivalent experience)
  • Valid certifications such as:
  • Glock Armorer Certification (required)
  • Shotgun and/or carbine armorer certifications (preferred)
  • Demonstrated expertise with:
  • Glock pistols
  • AR-15 / Colt-pattern carbines
  • Remington 870 / 700 platforms
  • Precision rifles (bolt-action and AR-10)
  • Experience working with a wide range of firearms including U.S. military and foreign weapon systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and perform machining operations (lathe, milling, refinishing)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping systems, * Military small arms repair experience
  • Completion of advanced weapons repair or machining courses (e.g., USMC Precision Weapons Repair Course or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting federal or law enforcement agencies
  • Instructional or training delivery experience
