Job description
This is an intermediate level position requiring comprehensive knowledge of computer networking, repair, testing, and troubleshooting. Analyze, plan, design, and install new personal computer systems. Review, monitor and upgrade existing personal computer systems. Determine user specifications for hardware and software. Install new, and maintain existing, hardware and software. Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance on client computer systems or PCs. Investigate and identify problems, troubleshoot and provide advice to assist clients. Coordinate with others to resolve problems as necessary. Provide on-site and remote support to contract clients. Research new technologies, build test lab mock ups, build possible client solutions, work on long-term client projects, wide area network and third party-application deployments. Identify and perform communication system connection repairs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in computer support environment
- Possess solid knowledge of Windows and Linux based applications and operating systems
- Ability to work well with other team members and a diversity of end users
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Be motivated and have strong organizational skills
- Effectively prioritize and bring multiple, simultaneous tasks to satisfactory conclusion
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Linux, SQL, Exchange, Communications, and scripting are a plus
- Document work performed daily
- Install/troubleshoot/repair networking and other low voltage wiring
- Perform other tasks as needed
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Reliable transportation and some travel as needed
