The Construction Manager - Fiber / OSP Construction is responsible for overseeing field construction operations related to fiber optic network deployment. This role manages construction crews, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope. The Construction Manager works closely with Program Managers, Engineering teams, Project Managers, and field supervisors to coordinate fiber network builds including underground, aerial, and restoration activities., * Manage daily operations of fiber construction projects including underground and aerial builds
- Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and construction supervisors
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower planning, and equipment allocation
- Ensure projects meet client specifications, engineering designs, and construction standards
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets
- Conduct field inspections to ensure quality assurance and compliance with construction standards
- Enforce all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company safety programs
- Coordinate with engineering teams on design changes or field adjustments
- Work closely with permitting, utility locates, and restoration teams
- Maintain communication with clients, project managers, and leadership teams
- Prepare and review daily reports, project updates, and production metrics
- Identify and resolve construction issues that may impact schedules or quality
- Support workforce planning and crew development
Requirements

5+ years of experience in telecommunications construction or fiber network deployment

3+ years of experience managing construction crews or subcontractors

Experience managing OSP fiber construction projects including underground and aerial builds

Strong understanding of telecom construction methods including:

Directional drilling
-
Trenching and plowing
-
Aerial fiber installation
-
Fiber placement and restoration
-
Ability to read and interpret construction prints and fiber network designs

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with major telecom providers or large infrastructure programs
- Knowledge of fiber network architecture (OSP / ISP)
- Experience with project management software or construction tracking tools
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred
- OSHA certifications or telecom safety training preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to project locations as required
- Ability to work in field environments and construction sites
- Ability to conduct field inspections and walk project areas
