Job description
The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions., * Performs assigned tasks and escalates issues during high-volume work activity or escalation-based situations.
- Leverages process knowledge and best judgment to complete next task without direct supervision.
- Coordinates, prepares, and executes incoming/outgoing deliveries (e.g. purchase order [PO] receiving, Rack Movement Supervisor [RMS] activities).
- Ensures complete and detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
- Performs inventory cycle audits, data corrections, and various Data Center regulatory compliance or certification control audit activity.
- Performs material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process.
- Ensures detailed physical inventory tracking and staging.
- Performs destruction of data bearing devices (DBD) following all documented procedures and runbooks, * Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance.
- Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program.
- Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs.
- Operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports.
Requirements
Our client, a leader in critical infrastructure support, is seeking a Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support 1 to join their team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to safety, which will align successfully in the organization., * High School Diploma AND 2+ years' experience warehouse/supply chain in an information technology (IT) environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field
- Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Previous experience working in a data center environment is required., * Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training required.
- 0-2 years' experience required.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time
