Job description

  • Coordinate project start-up activities, participate in project meetings relevant to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data management system

  • Perform scientifically rigorous data management and bioinformatic analyses

  • Independently design and implement a range of data collection instruments and workflows in REDCap, including the randomization module, longitudinal project setup, and role-based data access controls.

  • Perform thorough functional testing before database deployment.

  • Maintain the database and provide administrative services for the life of the project.

  • Assist team leads, supervisors and/or management with creation and implementation of processes and procedures and quality improvement initiatives

  • Provide training for study personnel associated with data collection, cleaning, and analysis.

  • Assist with developing or develop protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows, training manuals, and manual of procedures.

  • Assist with identifying issues related to operational efficiency and shares results with leadership

  • Act as a subject matter expert and authority in the area of REDCap data management system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science or related field

  • Three (3) years REDCap development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science or related field

  • Four (4) years of REDCap development experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of database principles relevant in medical research

  • Expert ability to analyze and solve complex problems and apply quantitative analytical approaches

  • Expert level knowledge of REDCap and willingness to learn new programming languages as necessary

  • Familiarity with statistical analytical concepts and methods

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Outstanding customer service skills

  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information, A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basisApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
