Job description
The IT Support Specialist will support the organization's information technology needs. This role requires a deep understanding of network and server infrastructure, cloud computing, virtualization, and cybersecurity. This position will work closely with the IT Manager and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the organization's technology.
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to ensure systems are secure and compliant with relevant regulations and protocols. This position will be involved in implementing new systems, providing training and technical support to end-users, and developing and maintaining documentation related to IT systems and processes., Provide hardware support to the entire company, providing technical assistance to employees, managers, and administrative staff. Respond to user requests for service.
Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and digital work order tickets in a courteous manner.
Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
Requirements
Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks & related hardware & software.
Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures & techniques.
Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions & operations problems.
Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Expertise in macOS and the ability train.
Proficient in utilizing Apple based operating system & the MS Office Suite of products.
Configuration and deployment of laptops, desktop computers, and mobile devices
Ensuring printers, network and or local printers are re-assigned to correct users.
Verifying operation capabilities; access to the internet/intranet and e-mail
A minimum of associate's degree required.
3-5 years' experience with macOS, iOS, macOS Server, JAMF Pro, VMWare, Windows, Microsoft Office, Windows & Apple Applications.
Experience with TCP/IP, preferred.
Experience with networking concepts and troubleshooting (DNS, DHCP).
Configuration and infrastructure experience.
Knowledge of configuring VPN and Firewalls for Meraki systems and hardware
