Job description

Tesla is building the most advanced real-time AI compute platform on the planet-at the lowest possible cost. This is an architecture and integration technical leadership role on a lean team building the foundational data-center infrastructure. As an early team member, you will lead not only on technical architecture and integration but also on developing engineering processes, validation frameworks, and scaling standards that define how we deploy hyperscale real-time AI systems at Tesla. What You'll Do

  • Architect and integrate next-generation data center hardware powering the most advanced, low-cost real-time AI compute infrastructure
  • Own end-to-end system-level architecture and seamless integration at rack-scale and tray-scale, incorporating compute nodes, high-speed networking, power distribution, advanced cooling, and software layers to achieve high-density, low-latency and high-reliability performance
  • Develop and execute comprehensive hardware-in-the-loop validation strategies for integrated systems, lead complex bring-up campaigns, and drive rapid root-cause resolution across all layers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI, robotics, compute - silicon and hardware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to align on integrated solution requirements and accelerate from prototype to hyperscale deployment
  • Establish and lead world-class engineering processes, integration standards, and best practices that enable real-time AI at massive scale and minimal cost

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software, firmware, and/or hardware engineering to build AI silicon, accelerators, AI servers, or similar high-performance compute systems
  • Deep domain expertise in two or more of: PCIe, high-speed interconnects (e.g., NVLink equivalents), networking fabrics, memory subsystems (DRAM/HBM), flash/storage, CPUs, accelerators, or AI silicon
  • Proven track record architecting and integrating large-scale data-center or AI/HPC infrastructure, including power, cooling, and validation at hyperscale
  • Hands-on experience developing systems/products for datacenter applications (e.g., AI/ML workloads, real-time inference, high-throughput compute)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a history of troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across hardware, firmware, and software layers
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, lead initiatives, and build engineering processes under aggressive timelines
  • Passion for Tesla's mission and excitement to shape the low-cost, most advanced real-time AI compute infrastructure

Benefits & conditions

Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:

  • Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction
  • Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits
  • Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution
  • Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA
