Java Engineer | AI-Driven Development | Sunrise, FL 12+ month contract | Hybrid Our client, a leader in financial services technology, is looking for a Java Engineer who combines strong backend fundamentals with hands-on AI proficiency and a proven track record of building and shipping products. This isn't a typical Java role. The team is AI-centric, fast-paced, and delivery-focused. They want engineers who use AI tools daily to build faster, ship smarter, and solve problems creatively-not just write perfect code. What You'll Do: + Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot in an Agile environment + Develop new features and optimize existing systems for performance and reliability + Work with relational and NoSQL databases to support high-traffic applications + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business impact, not just code What We're Looking For: Required: + 3+ years backend Java engineering experience (Java 11+, Spring Boot, microservices) + Strong understanding of ORMs (Spring Data, Hibernate) and database design + Hands-on AI tool usage (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) in real development workflows-not just experimentation + Personal projects or side products you've built and launched -we want to see your GitHub, live apps, open source contributions, or anything that shows you build outside of work + Solid grasp of authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, security best practices) Ideal Candidate: + Has shipped products independently (SaaS tools, Chrome extensions, open source libraries, revenue-generating projects, etc.) + Works with AI as a co-pilot to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality + Thrives in fast-moving environments where speed and iteration matter + Brings entrepreneurial energy-you build things because you want to, not just because you're told to Location & Compensation: + Hybrid in Sunrise, FL + $51/hr W2 + 12+ month contract with potential for extension + Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) + match, weekly pay To Apply: Include links to: + GitHub profile or portfolio + Live products or projects you've built + Examples of how you use AI tools in your workflow If you're a builder who ships, uses AI to move fast, and wants to work on cutting-edge fintech systems, let's talk.
