Founding Engineer

• You are an end-to-end builder with proven shipping experience to real users. You don't wait for specs or approvals you ship, then iterate.
• You care about product value, customer needs, and business impact, not just technical purity or code quality in isolation.
• You take infra and security seriously. You think about blast radius, trust boundaries, and what happens when something you shipped is in the critical path for every customer's agents.
• You are AI Native and use AI in your day to day workflows.
• You are comfortable across our stack TypeScript, Go, Python, and CockroachDB and a fast learner across languages, protocols, and domains.
• You hold strong opinions paired with intellectual humility.
• You can work in a horizontal org and thrive in ambiguity and scrappy environments. This role is not for a specialist who works in silos or needs extensive process.

MintMCP is an AI infrastructure company. Mint is used by some of the most AI forward and successful companies to gain visibility into how they're using MCP and Agents, enforce guardrails and permissions, and deploy AI company wide. Our MCP Gateway and Agentic platform is part of mission critical AI enablement and infrastructure. We prefer to work in-person, and have an expectation that all employees work in the office 3x a week. We have a horizontal structure, and work in ambiguity in a rapidly evolving market. We are AI-native: all employees are using Claude/Codex every day. We have more agents than employees. Our agents execute product, design, and engineering processes. You will be building and deploying the most cutting edge agentic technology at MintMCP. We're a small team, backed by Coatue Ventures, Jeff Dean, Andrej Karpathy, and Scott Belsky. Our founders are experts in Machine Learning from Stanford, Berkeley, and CMU, with applied research at Google Brain, Waymo, and co-founded Coursera. The Job You will own features end-to-end from conception through production across our gateway infrastructure, enterprise deployments, and agentic systems. The work leans backend and infra, but nothing is off limits: when the product needs a better UI, you build it; when the pipeline lags, you fix it. Roles are blurred and we ship within hours. Claude/Codex is your primary working environment. You use AI to move faster than a team this size has any right to, whether you're coding, debugging, learning, or pushing on what's possible.
