Job description
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking an E-Commerce Integration Engineer to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize our live e-commerce ecosystem. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role focused on systems reliability and integration performance. Responsibilities
- Support and diagnose issues on a live e-commerce platform
- Investigate problems across: Checkout flows; Shipping rate calculations; Tax calculations; Address validation
- Trace issues from front-end, middleware, third-party APIs
- Identify whether failures stem from configuration, data, or code
- Troubleshoot REST API integrations
- Diagnose authentication issues (API keys, tokens, OAuth)
- Investigate payload/response errors, malformed requests, timeouts, and rate limits
- Analyze and interpret API logs and error messages
- Work directly with third-party vendor technical support teams
- Support and troubleshoot shipping integrations, including: Rate calculations; Service availability by location; Address validation
- Diagnose tax engine integration issues such as: Incorrect tax rates; Product tax code mismatches; Jurisdiction/address validation errors affecting tax
- Ensure proper integration within checkout workflows
- Diagnose geocoding and jurisdiction boundary issues
- Troubleshoot address normalization mismatches
- Work with GIS-based datasets
- Convert and upload files aligned with jurisdictional boundaries
- Pull and analyze logs from: Application systems; Servers; Middleware platforms
- Correlate timestamps across multiple systems
- Distinguish root cause from downstream symptoms
- Document findings and recommended fixes
- Clearly explain: What is broken; Why it is broken; Whether it is a configuration, data, integration, or code issue
- Partner with: Developers; Marketing/E-commerce teams; Operations; Third-party vendors
- Recommend preventative improvements to reduce future failures
Requirements
- 5+ years supporting or engineering live e-commerce platforms
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and integration patterns
- Experience troubleshooting API authentication, payload, and timeout issues
- Experience with shipping carrier integrations
- Experience with tax engine integrations (e.g., Avalara or similar)
- Experience analyzing logs across distributed systems
- Ability to trace multi-system workflows and identify root causes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, * Experience with enterprise e-commerce platforms
- Experience working with GIS or geolocation-based data
- Familiarity with middleware / integration platforms
- Experience working in high-transaction, revenue-sensitive environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
