Unix Systems Engineer

Hansen Talent Group is hiring a Senior Unix Systems Engineer to support a high-performing infrastructure team.

This role focuses on server operations, performance analysis, and system reliability across a Linux-based environment. You'll work on monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and security while supporting critical infrastructure in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. This is a hybrid role based in Columbia, SC.

What You'll Do

• Monitor server health, performance, and capacity across enterprise systems
• Analyze workload trends and recommend performance improvements
• Troubleshoot incidents, resolve alerts, and support problem management efforts
• Support system maintenance, patching, and vulnerability remediation
• Automate tasks and processes using scripting and configuration tools (Ansible, Bash, etc.)
• Collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders on system improvements
• Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system implementations
• Maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and system configurations
• Ensure compliance with security, backup, and disaster recovery standards

• Experience in server/infrastructure environments
• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Experience with infrastructure management and automation tools (Ansible)
• Scripting experience (Bash, Perl, YAML or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting and system performance analysis skills
• Experience with server monitoring, security, and backup tools
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
