Provide leadership and tactical planning for execution of projects by applying technical information systems domain knowledge to achieve project objectives and deliverables

Estimate costs and schedules for information systems and cyber security projects; ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the technical requirements

Develop and deliver status reporting, decision documents, and presentations to executive leadership

Understand the technical domain to identify task dependencies

Manage changes in project scope by using change management, identifying potential issues, and devising contingency plans as necessary
-
Utilize project management methodologies such as Agile, iterative, spiral and waterfall in managing and tracking the execution of projects
-
Identify potential project risks and respond by developing risk mitigation strategics, corrective actions, risk acceptance recommendations or avoidance for all aspects of the project
-
Be accountable for executing projects with the Center Leadership Team that span the across the Center's capabilities
-
Lead Division/Lab level activities to completion

Partner closely with stakeholders from across the Division and Lab to ensure deliverables are successful

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, IT or a related field plus 5 years of experience; or equivalent education/experience (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)

Experience with Project Management leadership on high visibility projects

Experience working with senior and executive management
-
Experience collaborating with external customers (SFO/NNSA, DOE, or other government agencies)
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:

Demonstrated strong interpersonal, team facilitation, communication, training, coaching, mentoring, and presentation skills

Demonstrated IT project management experience with knowledge of cybersecurity, high-performance computing, and other IT functions.

Demonstrated excellent collaboration across Centers, Divisions, and both Mission R&D and functional areas, with a strong understanding of Sandia's culture.

Experience working with and effectively communicating to multiple levels of management (Staff, Management, Executive Management)

Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to articulate the plan and execute the project to successful completion

Proven knowledge of operations/program management, change and configuration management, requirements management, and risk management

Proficiency in processes, tools, and applications commonly used in information systems development and project management

Strong organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, complemented by excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience creating presentations.

Demonstrated ability to deliver results, effectively manage people, meet deliverables, and guide multidisciplinary teams

Organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Ability to navigate ambiguous directions, seamlessly transition between strategic and tactical levels, and translate strategy into actionable plans with effective follow-through.

The Cyber Security and Mission Computing Center defends Sandia from cyber threats and drives mission success through computing. We excel in defending Sandia's information systems and networks. We have a proven track record of delivery of mission critical information systems for ND and the NSE. We have a rich history of high performance computing (HPC) for real-world security problems. We enable engineering efficiency through the Common Engineering Environment (CEE). We create technology differentiators for the mission in cyber security, data analytics, software engineering, and cloud computing.
