Job description
The Information Systems Technician provides hands-on technical support for corporate information systems, networks, hardware, and software applications in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures associates have the tools and support they need to work efficiently while maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing IT systems.
This position is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys problem-solving, supporting internal customers, and working across a variety of systems and technologies., * Provide IT support and help desk services to internal users across departments
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair computer hardware, software, peripherals, and network equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to LANs, servers, and PC-based client/server systems
- Maintain data processing system inventory, documentation, and backups
- Support IT system security, reliability, and performance
- Respond to and assist with IT system outages and operational emergencies
- Collaborate with the IS Manager and IT team on cost-effective technology solutions
- Train and assist associates in effective use of IT systems and applications
- Coordinate with IT vendors and suppliers
- Support Centro's Quality System and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote safety, organization, teamwork, and customer service
- Perform additional IT-related duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred (Equivalent work experience considered)
- 1+ year of IT, technical support, or systems experience preferred
- Working knowledge of:
- LAN and networking concepts
- PC hardware and operating systems
- Microsoft Office applications
- Relational databases (preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and internal customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience using basic hand tools for hardware repair
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, * Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments
- Familiarity with server technologies
- IT or networking certifications (e.g., Network Engineer, IT certifications) preferred
- Demonstrated interest in continuing education and professional development
