Job description
The Technology Support Technician provides technical support to ensure the effective operation of instructional and administrative technology across the district. This position supports students, teachers, and staff by maintaining devices, troubleshooting issues, and helping create a reliable, safe, and technology-rich learning environment., * Install, configure, and maintain district-issued devices including desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, printers, and classroom technology
- Provide timely troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom technology to support teaching and learning
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, updates, and system checks on all assigned equipment
- Support device deployment, collection, and inventory management processes
- Maintain and update network cabling diagrams and assist with connectivity needs across school sites
- Relocate and set up equipment as needed, ensuring proper functionality after installation
- Diagnose and repair equipment; coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary
- Utilize help desk systems and diagnostic tools to track and resolve support requests
- Provide clear, courteous technical assistance and training to staff and students
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inventory, and work orders
- Follow district policies related to technology use, safety, and data security
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology
Requirements
- Working knowledge of computers, peripherals, and classroom technology tools
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, ChromeOS, and macOS
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and device connectivity
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Knowledge of safe handling and maintenance of technology equipment
- Strong communication and customer service skills, especially in a school environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students
- Basic record-keeping and organizational skills
