Job description
Leidos is seeking a Network Controller/Administrator to support DISA operations at Hill AFB in a 24x7 Global Network Support Center (GNSC) environment. DISA serves as the provider of Global Information Grid (GIG) / Defense Information System Network (DISN) services for the Department of Defense and national security organizations. This role supports mission-critical telecommunications capabilities enabling: Global warfighter operations Strategic deterrence missions Humanitarian assistance and disaster relief Peacetime crisis operations
The position supports DISA-provided GIG capabilities across Transport, IP, and Unified Capabilities (UC) NOC operations.
Primary Responsibilities: Conduct incident investigations for network and telecommunications systems Analyze network alarms and identify potential or active issues Identify, document, and resolve network faults Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain: Routers, switches, firewalls, and cryptographic devices Phone systems, voicemail, Call Manager systems, and trunk circuits Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems and distribution platforms Optical, ATM, MSPP, and Promina network devices
Maintain optimal performance while ensuring required security posture
Requirements
We are seeking candidates with an active Secret or Top Secret clearance who have prior experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment-ideally within a military or DoD setting.
The program is divided into multiple teams, each with a specialized technical focus, including: Router/Switch LAN/WAN Unified Communications (UC/VoIP) Cisco & Juniper routing and switching Satellite communications
Each team has a slightly different job scope; however, the primary qualifier is a cleared professional with hands-on network troubleshooting experience in a NOC environment. Qualified candidates will be a fit for one of the teams based on their background., Mid-level Network Administrator experience with a strong troubleshooting mindset Security+ (Sec+) certification Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
Candidates with an active Secret clearance will be upgraded to Top Secret during the CTH process
Secondary Skills (Nice to Haves): Experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment Familiarity with UC/VoIP environments Satellite or transport network experience Prior military or government NOC operations, High School Diploma with 3+ years of relevant technical experience Additional experience may substitute for formal education
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required prior to start Ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment Experience in one or more of the following: Alarm surveillance Fault management LAN maintenance Performance management
Expertise in one or more of the following technologies: Routers and switches Cryptographic devices Cisco networking equipment DSN/DRSN, GVS, Promina, MSPP Optical switching General understanding of transport and IP network topologies
Additional Skills & Qualifications: High level of professionalism required due to work on an active Air Force base
