Job description
We're partnering with a well-established organization to add an IT Infrastructure Engineer to their team. This role is responsible for maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of core IT systems across a multi-site environment. You'll play a key role in day-to-day infrastructure operations, helping ensure systems are stable, secure, and recoverable while supporting both internal users and customer-facing technologies. What You'll Be Doing Infrastructure Operations
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system and network performance issues
- Perform patching, firmware updates, and routine maintenance
- Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and inventory
- Ensure uptime, reliability, and overall health of infrastructure systems
Systems & Platform Management
- Administer server environments (Windows & Linux)
- Support virtualization and storage platforms
- Manage backups and disaster recovery processes
- Handle server provisioning, configuration, and decommissioning
- Monitor system performance and proactively address capacity issues
Network & Connectivity
- Configure and support network infrastructure (switching, VLANs, routing, wireless)
- Assist with firewall configuration and network security best practices
- Ensure reliable connectivity and support failover capabilities
Security & Compliance
- Apply system hardening and security configurations
- Remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities
- Support backup integrity and recovery testing
- Follow established security and access control standards
Incident & Change Management
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related incidents
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
- Participate in change management processes
- Document incidents, changes, and resolutions
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability
- Support automation, standardization, and modernization efforts
- Maintain operational procedures and runbooks
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems, or network engineering
- Hands-on experience with:
- Network infrastructure (switching, VLANs, routing, wireless)
- Server administration (Windows/Linux)
- Virtualization platforms
- Backup and recovery solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with patching, monitoring, and system maintenance
- Ability to work within structured IT processes (incident/change management)
- Solid documentation and communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Certifications (Network+, Security+, VMware, Microsoft, etc.)
- Experience with Active Directory and hybrid identity environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
- Familiarity with security concepts like network segmentation or zero trust
- Experience with monitoring or vulnerability management tools
