Job description
Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Manager to join our team starting immediately. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE) position designed for a professional who excels at data collection, analysis, and supporting the technological needs of a modern educational environment., We are looking for a professional who can support our entire professional learning community. You will work alongside the Director of Data Systems, the Director of Learning & Innovation, administrators, and teachers to ensure data integrity and provide the insights necessary to help every student succeed. The position reports to the Director of Data Systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage student information systems (PowerSchool), assessment databases, and data warehouse platforms, ensuring security and efficient operation.
- Maintain and monitor systems on a daily basis to ensure accurate, up-to-date data is available for district leadership and teaching staff.
- Coordinate and complete all required state and federal reports; support district preparedness for the Vermont Comprehensive Assessment Program (VTCAP).
- Provide training, support, and documentation (including tutorials) for staff and teachers to better understand and utilize student performance reports.
- Troubleshoot data system issues and assist with data file manipulation, custom report creation, and system integrations.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in relational database concepts, data importing/exporting, and custom report development (e.g., for EST or report cards).
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; prior experience in K-12 education and PowerSchool is highly preferred.
- The ability to interface effectively with schools and administrators to translate complex data into actionable information.
- A commitment to accuracy and a strong conceptual understanding of user security and data management.
- A willingness to attend state training meetings and engage with user groups to stay current on data management trends.
